Restoration of the Floors of the Church of Saint Giles in Valdaora di Mezzo (Trentino-Alto Adige)

In June 2025, Feltracco Brothers carried out an important conservation restoration of the floors in the historic Church of Saint Giles, located in Valdaora di Mezzo, Trentino-Alto Adige.

This sacred building has its origins in the Early Middle Ages and represents a valuable testimony of the region’s historical and spiritual heritage. According to an ancient parchment, the church was consecrated on September 1, 1138, by Bishop Rembert of Brixen, in honor of the Holy Trinity, the Victorious Cross, and the disciple Giles.

The figure of Saint Giles plays a significant role in religious tradition: venerated and invoked by shepherds and hunters, he is considered the patron of livestock and protector against the plague.

A restoration respecting sacredness and origins

The restoration of the floors involved the use of natural materials and traditional techniques. Specifically, marble powders and cocciopesto were skillfully crafted by our artisans.

Thanks to their expertise, it was possible to enhance the historical and cultural environment of the church, while preserving its sacredness and ancient origins.

This project once again demonstrates the commitment of Feltracco Brothers to the preservation of artistic and religious heritage, combining tradition, craftsmanship, and respect for history.
