Restoration of the Venetian Terracotta Floors of the Church of Denore
An intervention that returns history, beauty, and authenticity to a precious asset of our territory.
The Church of San Giovanni Battista in Denore (Ferrara) holds centuries of history and art. Among its most valuable elements, the Venetian terracotta floors represent a heritage not only of architecture, but also of identity for the local community.
The restoration project
The work carried out by Feltracco Fratelli aimed to recover and enhance the original surfaces, respecting the historical material and preserving the decorations that have always distinguished the building.
Thanks to a careful preliminary analysis, it was possible to identify the areas that required conservation work and those where targeted cleaning and protective treatment could be carried out.
Every stage was conducted with the dual goal of ensuring the long-term durability of the restoration and restoring the floor’s aesthetic legibility.
A heritage to be experienced and passed on
The work has brought back all the refinement of the Venetian terracotta, allowing worshippers and visitors to once again admire an architectural element that perfectly complements the other historical details of the church.
This is a tangible example of how restoration can serve memory, keeping alive the identity of places of worship and our cultural heritage.
